How we use member data

Our promise to members: we use your data to run Golden Hint, we never sell it, and you can take it with you or delete it.

When you join Golden Hint, you trust us with information about you and your organization. Here is what we promise in return.

What we use it for

We use member data to run Golden Hint, and only for that:

  • to verify you and your organization
  • to show your profile to other members
  • to match you with people who can help, and people you can help
  • to run exchanges, messages, credits, reviews and the forum
  • to keep the community safe and fair
  • to tell you about things that affect your account

We never sell it

We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.

Golden Hint is run by the Rouben Malian Memorial Foundation. Being a member does not put you on a fundraising list. The Foundation will not use your data to send you fundraising appeals unless you have said yes.

Sector insights, only in aggregate

Funders want to understand what charities need, so they can support them better. We may share anonymous insights with funders, such as which kinds of help are asked for most often.

  • These insights never name you or your organization.
  • They are only ever shared in aggregate, which means combined across a group.
  • Each group must include at least 10 organizations, so no one can be picked out.

Private stays private

Documents you share in an exchange stay private to you and the other member. Your messages are yours.

Take it with you, or delete it

It is your data.

  • You can export a copy of your data at any time.
  • You can delete your data at any time.

If you need help, write to hello@goldenhint.com. We will answer within 30 days.
